Our latest overseas property buyers head south to the Costa Calida
We´ve been musing the benefits of neighbouring residential communities such as Playa Flamenca and Cabo Roig recently, but today´s happy home buyers chose a location somewhat further south in the region of Murcia.
Ana and Daniel (and family) found their perfect overseas property in Santiago de la Ribera, a very pretty Spanish town some 18 km´s south of our offices here in La Zenia.
Originally a traditional fishing village, Santiago de la Ribera has blossomed into a modern and vibrant Mediterranean destination, and it´s relative proximity to the larger municipal town of San Javier and the recently inaugurated Murcia regional airport has only added to its popularity.
Not that the town doesn´t possess admirable qualities of its own. To the contrary, Santiago de la Ribera boasts 4 km´s of golden sandy beaches and a prestigious location on the shores of the Mar Menor, a natural coastal saltwater lagoon.
The lagoon is revered for it´s ecological importance, and its remarkable sporting infrastructure makes it a popular place for a wide variety of water sports.
Naturally, Ana and Daniel fell in love with the locale and found a simply beautiful super-modern apartment in Santiago De La Ribera. However, perhaps today the usual welcome to our "overseas property buyers" is a little misplaced, as Ana and Daniel are Spanish.
Regardless of nationality, it would be exceptionally difficult not to be impressed by the sheer natural beauty of both the town and the area in which it is located, and Santiago de la Ribera is an enviable location for a holiday home here in Spain.
