Our latest home buyers trade Icelandic winters for the Costa Blanca

Thorunn and Asgeir | Detached villa in Playa Flamenca, Orihuela Costa, Spain

It was just last week that we reported the happy news that our latest buyer from Bulgaria had purchased an overseas property.

And this week we´re visiting another corner of our blue planet, as today´s clients arrived on the sunny shores of the Costa Blanca from Iceland.

Spain is superbly accessible from Iceland, and with regular scheduled flights between Reykjavik and Alicante airport throughout the year, and a short-haul median flight time of just 4h 30m, it´s a great choice of location for a second home abroad.

So upon their arrival, our Property Advisor Marcel showed Thorunn and Asgeir around the local area, and provided essential advice regarding the best location to suit their lifestyle and property requirements.

They chose Playa Flamenca as the ideal location for them, and purchased a simply beautiful detached villa a stones-throw from the Zenia Boulevard shopping centre - just the ticket for indulging in a spot of retail therapy or enjoying a fabulous meal at their choice of dining venues.

Playa Flamenca is a popular choice, with an excellent choice of properties, a central location that´s ideal for exploring farther afield, and first-class amenities seemingly around every corner.

Of course, with some of the best beaches just minutes away there´s always going to be something to see or do whilst they´re here, and we have no doubts that the mild winter climate here in Spain will be a welcome relief from the weather back home.

There can be no doubt that Iceland is a majestic country with a rich variety of mid-Atlantic flora and fauna, but with such close proximity to the Arctic Circle and a maximum average summer temperature of just 14.5°c, year-round fine weather is simply not this particular Nordic island´s strong suit.

Average daytime temperatures on the Orihuela Costa rarely fall that far even in mid-winter, and we´re hoping that with an average 320 days per year of nothing but sunshine, Thorunn and Asgeir will appreciate the contrast in climates.

However they plan to spend their time here, on behalf of Marcel and the team at Inmo Investments we would like to wish both of them many happy future years in their new holiday home, and we thank Thorunn and Asgeir for being such lovely customers.
